Our Safeguarding Commitment
We are committed to safeguarding all children, not only those who attend our nurseries. The safety, welfare and wellbeing of every child is of the highest importance to us.
We promote a strong safeguarding culture throughout our nurseries, where staff, children, parents and visitors feel confident to raise concerns and know that they will be listened to and responded to appropriately.
Our practitioners are encouraged to remain vigilant and to approach safeguarding with the understanding that “it could be happening to our children.” We believe that no concern is too small or too insignificant to report. By recognising concerns at an early stage and responding appropriately, we can help to ensure that children receive the protection and support they need.
All staff receive safeguarding training as part of their induction and regularly throughout their employment. Our Designated Safeguarding Leads are fully trained and available throughout nursery hours to provide guidance, support and oversight.
We work closely with parents, carers and relevant professionals to promote the safety and welfare of children. Where necessary, we work with local authorities, social workers and other agencies to ensure that children and families receive appropriate support.
Our safeguarding procedures are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain effective, understood by our team and consistently reflected in our day-to-day practice.
How do we keep our children safe?
We have robust measures in place to help maintain a safe and secure environment:
-
CCTV is in place across all nursery units and is accessible only to authorised members of management.
-
A strict no-electronic-device policy is in place for all staff.
-
A strict no-phone policy applies to all staff and visitors.
-
We operate a strict visitors policy, ensuring that only authorised and expected visitors are permitted access to the nursery.
-
Fully trained Designated Safeguarding Leads are present and available throughout all nursery hours.
-
All staff complete safeguarding training as part of their induction, with regular refresher training thereafter.
-
We follow a robust safer recruitment process.
-
All staff hold appropriate DBS checks.
-
All staff are first-aid trained.
Safeguarding is embedded in the culture of our nurseries and is considered in everything we do. Through clear procedures, well-trained staff and strong partnerships with families and professionals, we are committed to providing an environment in which every child is safe, protected and able to thrive.
